Frequently asked questions about our language camps
The easiest way to do this is online via our booking form.
All prices and dates can be found on the prices and services page.
From experience, we recommend around 30 € per week for postcards, ice cream, sweets or soft drinks.
In our language camps, the focus is on having fun with the foreign language. Many children find the courage to simply speak, feel more confident in their lessons at school and improve their grades as a result.
No. That would be unrealistic. Our supervisors speak as much as possible in the target language and also encourage the children to use it among themselves. However, it is completely normal for the children to use their mother tongue from time to time.
In our international camps in the summer, children from all over the world come together. They learn German or English, and so these two languages are usually the common basis for communicating with each other. Due to the internationality, there are many great opportunities to try out the target language!
Here we introduce our supervisors so that you know who will be looking after your child during their stay.
If the leisure program cannot take place due to bad weather (e.g. storm or heavy rain), we offer an indoor alternative, e.g. bowling, a visit to the spa, watching a film in the target language, table tennis or board games.
In the event of light rain, the program will usually still take place outside. So please remember to wear weatherproof clothing!
We will send you a detailed packing list before the camp starts!
Ideally on Sundays between 16:00 and 17:00 h.
On Saturdays between 10:00 and 11:00 h.
Yes, of course we take this into consideration. Please let us know at the time of booking if possible.
If a child falls ill or injures themselves, we usually consult a doctor and inform the parents as soon as possible. In minor cases, we also support the child in self-treatment (e.g. with a pain gel or cough tea) after consultation with the parents. If a child is unable to participate in the program for a longer period of time due to illness, we will support you in organizing pick-up.
Most children feel very comfortable right from the start and are not homesick. However, if a participant does feel homesick, our childcare staff are well trained to deal with such cases. They will then take extra care of your child and provide distraction.
Of course you may visit your child at the vacation camp. We recommend this on Sundays, as there is no day trip.
On arrival, our supervisors collect all electronic devices. They hand out the cell phones and smartphones twice a week in the evening for approx. 1 hour.
The Carl Duisberg Language Camp has an emergency telephone which our supervisors carry with them day and night. This means that you can always reach your child in an emergency.
Please take care of your child's insurance cover yourself: Liability, accident and health insurance are compulsory. For children traveling from abroad, we offer such insurance for 20 € per week. This must be booked separately.
You can reach us at the Carl Duisberg Training Center during opening hours (Monday to Thursday 08:00–18:00, Friday 08:00–17:00). Even if the camp organizer is not on site, we will always help you.
All contact details are part of the information package you will receive before the camp starts.
